Overview
Smart Checklist helps you track how your checklists change over time. It offers two complementary history views:
Checklist Item History – view the latest status changes for individual checklist items directly in the checklist.
Checklist History Tab – view a complete chronological record of all checklist changes for the issue.
Together, these features provide full visibility into checklist activity, from quick status updates to a comprehensive audit trail.
Checklist Item History NEW
Checklist Item History lets you view status changes for individual checklist items directly in the checklist.
☝️ NOTE: Currently, Checklist Item History displays status changes only. To view edits, deletions, template actions, and other checklist events, use the Checklist History tab in the issue's Activity section.
View Item History on Hover (Default)
By default, hovering over a checklist item displays a tooltip with the most recent status change, including who made the change and when.
Show Inline Item History
If you'd rather keep status changes visible without hovering, you can enable the inline history view.
To do so:
Open the Smart Checklist panel.
Click the Filter button in the upper-right corner.
Select Show checklist history.
When enabled, the latest status change is displayed directly beneath each applicable checklist item (for example, Status changed to Done by Matt D on...).
To hide the inline item history, click on the Hide checklist history option. Status changes will once again be available only through hover tooltips.
Checklist History Tab
The Checklist History tab provides a complete chronological log of all changes made to the checklist for a Jira issue.
Unlike Checklist Item History, which displays only recent status changes for individual items, the Checklist History tab records all supported checklist events in one place.
Access the Checklist History Tab
Scroll to the Activity section at the bottom of the Jira issue.
Select the Smart Checklist History tab next to Comments and Work Logs.
