Support checklist data migration from Server/Data Center to Cloud instance with JCMA tool

Given Atlassian announced the termination of Server add-ons support, Smart Checklist is now presenting a new smooth Server/Data Center to Cloud migration with a JCMA tool to support our customers who want to migrate.

JCMA flow

Step 1: Assess your apps.

  1. Select Smart Checklist as an app that is `Needed in cloud`:

Step 2: Prepare your apps.

  1. Connect to your cloud instance.

  2. Check that you have Smart Checklist for Jira. Pro addon installed.

  3. Agree to migrate addon data.

Step 3: Create and run new migration.

  1. Enter the name of the migration.

  2. Select Cloud instance.

  3. Select Projects, Users and Groups, and Customers to migrate.

  4. Review migration settings and fix errors if needed.

  5. Run migration.

Post actions

Wait until your migration finishes and check its status for Smart Checklist for Jira. Pro addon:

  • If the migration status of the Smart Checklist for Jira. Pro addon data is “Completed” - the server part of the migration is successfully finished, you can wait for a few minutes and check your data on the Cloud instance:

 

  • In case during migration of the data some issues occur with data exporting from Server or connection to Cloud - migration status will be failed with error message available in the details:

Smart Checklist content is migrated together with your project data.
This means you can’t migrate Smart Checklist content for projects that are already available in the Cloud instance.

Smart Checklist in view-only mode on a Customer Service Portal

Since version 5.8.0 Smart Checklist for Jira Server and Data Center supports visibility of Smart Checklist on the Customer Portal in view only mode. By default, the feature is disabled and the Smart Checklist is not visible on the Customer Portal.

To enable the feature - please follow the next steps:

  1. Navigate to the Jira Administration Settings → Manage Apps → Smart Checklist Settings.

  2. Navigate to the “Global settings” tab.

  3. Turn on the “Show on customer portal” toggle:

Once you enable the feature - after adding Smart Checklist content to the service desk tickets - customers will be able to see Smart Checklist in the view-only mode:

Notify Assignee via email

Since version 6.0.0 Smart Checklist for Jira Server and Data Center support email notifications about checklist item assignment to Jira user. By default, the feature is disabled and assignees do not receive email notifications.

To enable the feature - please follow the next steps:

  1. Navigate to the Jira Administration Settings → Manage Apps → Smart Checklist Settings.

  2. Navigate to the “Global settings” tab.

  3. Turn on the “Notify assignees” toggle:

Once the feature is enabled - newly assigned users will receive email notifications:
