Default Template Extended Conditions on Jira Issue view
Starting from v7.7.0, we are introducing a new Advanced tab in the Manage Template popup, available directly from the Jira Issue view page.
This new tab allows you to configure additional triggers for applying default templates - a feature that was previously available only in the Global Settings.
To access it:
On the Jira Issue view page, click the three-dots menu under the Smart Checklist app section.
Select Manage Template.
Choose the template you want to edit and click on it.
In the right-hand panel, you will now see the new Advanced tab.
In the Advanced tab, you will find the Trigger field, where you can configure when the default template should be applied.
Available options:
None – No automatic template assignment.
Issue created – Applies the template to all newly created issues.
Issue transitioned – Applies the template when an issue status changes.
Issue updated – Applies the template when a field value changes.
You can also add multiple conditions by clicking the + Add condition button. This allows you to combine different criteria - for example, when the issue type is “Story” and the “Components” field is not empty.
