Mandatory items

Starting from version #.#.##-AC functionality of making items mandatory/non-mandatory is available.

The mandatory items feature is enabled only for Smart Checklist for Jira. Pro users.

If you want to make any of the checklist items mandatory follow the steps below:

  1. Click on 3 dots for a checklist item and select “Make mandatory”:

2. Check the item - a red asterisk will be added to the upper right corner of the checkbox.

If you are using Smart Checklist for Jira. Free version Make mandatory/non-mandatory action will be disabled with a Pro page for it:

If you want to make any of the checklist items non-mandatory, follow the steps below:

  1. Click on 3 dots for a checklist item and select “Make non-mandatory”:

2. Check the item - a red asterisk will disappear.

Asterisk for mandatory items will be present on:

  • Issue view;

  • Template pop-up from Issue view;

  • Create Template pop-up from Issue view;

  • Template tab from Project Settings;

  • Create Template pop-up from Project Settings;

  • Issue view on customer portal;

  • Assignee email notifications;

  • Smart Checklist History.

To update checklist items using a full-screen editor use this format (for example add mandatory items, make non-mandatory items mandatory) use this format:

Mandatory items validator

Together with mandatory items feature users of Smart Checklist for Jira. Pro version could configure and use the Mandatory items completed validator. It will help to prevent prevent the Jira issue from transition to the next state if not all Smart Checklist mandatory items are checked/completed. That's possible by adding a corresponding validator to your workflow transition.
