Default Jira Permissions for Smart Checklist
By default, Smart Checklist aligns with global Jira permissions as follows:
Users with the "Browse Projects " permission can browse Permission: Users can view issues and see access Smart Checklist content in these issues. They will not be able to bring any changes to checklists though;
Users with the "Edit Issue" permission will be able to modify checklists (mark items as done/undone; edit content within the items, add/delete items, etc.);
Users with "Administer Projects" permission are able to create/modify templates and set them as default. You can grant proper permissions via , but they cannot make any modifications to the checklists.
Edit Issue Permission: Users can edit checklists, including marking items as done or undone, modifying item content, and adding or deleting items.
Administer Projects Permission: Users can create and modify templates, as well as set them as defaults. Appropriate permissions can be assigned through Project Settings → Users and roles Roles → Add users to a role.

To set up Custom Permissions
Go to Jira → Project → Project Settings → Permissions.
Click Actions → Edit permissions.
Look for the Smart Checklist permissions set.
Grant proper permissions to users/roles/groups in your project.

Navigate to Settings → Manage apps → Smart Checklist Settings → Permissions tab.

Setting Up Custom Checklist Permissions for Your Project
Navigate to Jira and select your project.
Go to Project Settings and then choose Permissions.
Click on Actions and select Edit Permissions.
Locate the Smart Checklist Permissions section.
Assign the appropriate permissions to users, roles, or groups as needed for your project.

Once you’ve set the custom permissions, Smart Checklist will use these instead of the default Jira permissions 🎉
Access for Anonymous users
There might be cases when Jira Project and Smart Checklist need to be accessed by Anonymous users.
