Typing in “@” in Smart Checklist input box will pull out the list of Jira users on your instance that you can select from and add to a checklist item.

If the username differs from the full name - then Jira username is saved per checklist item displaying the full name in rendered mode.
Note! No notifications are triggered and sent to the users by this action.
