Mandatory items

Starting from version #.#.##-AC functionality of making items mandatory/non-mandatory is available.

Checklist items are optional by default. To make items mandatory you can use the following:

• context menu of checklist items in UI;

• full-screen editor;

• correct format when adding an item from quick mode or updating Checklists custom field.

If you want to make any of the checklist items mandatory follow the steps below:

1. Click on 3 dots for a checklist item and select “Make mandatory”:

2. Check the item - a red asterisk will be added to the upper right corner of the checkbox.

If you want to make any of the checklist items non-mandatory, follow the steps below:

1. Click on 3 dots for a checklist item and select “Make non-mandatory”:

2. Check the item - a red asterisk will disappear.

Asterisk for mandatory items will be present on:

• Issue view;

• Template/Create Template pop-ups from Issue view;

• Template tab from Project Settings;

• Create Template pop-up from Project Settings;

• Customer portal;

• Assignee email notifications;

• Smart Checklist History.

To update checklist items using a full-screen editor use this format:

Mandatory items completed validator

Together with mandatory items feature users of Smart Checklist for Jira. Pro version could configure and use the Mandatory items completed validator. It will help to prevent the Jira issue from transition to the next state if not all Smart Checklist mandatory items are checked/completed. That's possible by adding a corresponding validator to your workflow transition.
