We've enhanced Smart Templates by adding support for the three new variable types. These additions provide greater flexibility and customization when using templates. See more: Variables | Variable types

Identification of default issue type for templates

When creating a new template, Smart Templates will now automatically display the highest issue type in the project hierarchy, instead of defaulting to Epic. This update ensures better support for Business and Jira Service Management project types.

Support of Custom Hierarchy Levels

Starting with this release, Smart Templates fully supports Jira's custom hierarchy levels above Epics. You can now leverage this feature to create and manage higher-level structures, such as initiatives or themes, directly within your Smart Templates. This enhancement provides greater flexibility in aligning your projects with broader business goals, ensuring that your work is organized and visualized effectively.
