Easily share your Templates across multiple projects, ensuring consistency and efficiency in your workflows with the new Global Templates feature! 🌟

Overview

Global Templates enable you to share issue templates across multiple Jira projects, ensuring consistency and reducing duplication of effort. You can choose to share templates with specific projects or make them available to all projects, including any newly created ones.

Steps to Share a Template

  1. Open the Template for editing and go to the Projects tab to manage sharing options.

  1. In the Share between projects field, select projects you want to share the with. You can share the template across multiple projects or with all projects, including newly created ones.

☝🏼NOTE: Currently, templates can only be shared with projects that use the same issue type schema to ensure issues are created successfully without errors.

☝🏼NOTE: Templates cannot be shared with Team-managed projects πŸ‘₯

  1. Click Save Template to apply your sharing options.

  2. That’s it! πŸŽ‰ Now you can access the template from the shared projects.

☝🏼NOTE: Global templates only share the configurations from the Issues and Variables tabs. History, Scheduler, and Automation settings are specific to each project.
