Clone Checklist by Cloning a Jira Issue

When you clone a Jira issue, all Smart Checklist content is automatically copied to the new issue. This functionality is fully supported across all Jira project types, including Company-managed and Team-managed projects.

1. Navigate to the Issue with a checklist you want to clone → click 3-dots menu.

2. Choose Clone from the menu:

3. The pop up with cloning options will appear → click Clone:

4. You’ll receive the notification about success cloning with the link to the cloned Issue:

Checklist items are reset to “To Do” when a Jira issue is cloned. This setting is enabled by default.

To disable it, go to Settings → Marketplace Apps → Smart Checklist → Global Settings and turn off the “Reset checklist when cloning a Jira issue” toggle.
