Issue cloning
The newly enhanced Issue Cloning feature gives users full control over how checklists are handled when cloning issues. New options to customize the cloning process, allowing users to tailor it to their specific workflow.
Clone Checklists Setting
To set up the cloning process in Global Settings, follow these steps:
Navigate to Settings → Manage apps → Smart Checklist Settings.
Navigate to the “Global Settings” tab.
Scroll down to find cloning settings:
Users can now decide if they want their checklists to be cloned along with the issue.
Clone checklist when cloning Jira issue.
Default: The setting is ON by default.
Behavior:
When ON, the cloned issue will include all checklist items.
When OFF, the cloned issue will not include any checklist items.
Reset checklist when cloning Jira issue
Users can control how checklist statuses are managed when cloning issues.
Condition: This setting is only enabled when "Clone checklist when cloning Jira issue" is ON.
Default: The setting is OFF by default.
Behavior:
When ON, all checklist items in the cloned issue will be reset to “To Do.”
When OFF, the cloned issue will retain the checklist items and their original statuses.
These enhancements give users the flexibility to clone issues according to their needs, whether that means carrying over checklist statuses, resetting them, or omitting checklists entirely.
To use this functionality you need to have the "Checklists" custom field.
Follow these instructions to do so.
