Manage project templates
The options presented below are available only for users with Project Admin permissions.
Starting from v6.5.0 users with granted custom permission “Manage Smart Checklist Templates” can manage Project Templates too (when custom permissions are toggled on). Read more Set-up Custom Permissions.
However, System Admins can manage Project Templates through the admin console under Global Templates context. Read more Manage global templates.
Smart Checklist template management is accessible from:
the "Import from a template" or “Manage templates“ menu item.
Administration → Manage apps → Smart Checklist Settings → Templates tab
Rename a template
Go to your templates list
Click on the template name to expand the details
Click on the template name, rename and hit "V" to save
Edit a template
You can edit a template in 2 ways: from Checklist UI or from Editor. Both options are available for Global/Project/Non-linked templates.
Go to your template list.
Click on the template name to expand the details.
Click on "Edit" to enter editing mode
You'll see a checklist representation in Checklist. You can make any changes/updates from here. It is similar to editing the checklist from UI on the Issue view.
Or you can switch to the Editor tab where you will see the checklist in raw markdown format.
Make the changes and click "Save".
☝🏼NOTE: Editor is disabled for Linked Templates.
Delete a template
Go to your templates list
Click on the template name to expand the details
See the red button "Delete" in "Danger zone"
When you click "Delete" you will be asked for confirmation
Tip
Your imported checklists will be safe and template deletion will not affect any Jira Issues!
Sort Templates
Templates are sorted alphabetically by default. You can modify the sorting order to be ASC or DESC using the button in the top right-hand corner:
